Just a little context for Astrophel and Pallas:

Pallas is Astrophel's uncle (his dad's twin brother). Growing up, Pallas and Basil Sr. were thick as thieves. This continued after Basil met and married Trina Bloomwood and moved to Mistmeadow to help on the family farm. Pallas is by trade a travelling performer, dealing in showing off novel technology and odd wildlife he's found in a tent show. When the oldest 3 Bloomwood kids (Greg, Posey and Astrophel) were young, Pallas stayed on the west side of Waywardia, making frequent visits to the farm and instilling a love of space and astronomy in Astrophel. During his last visit, Basil Sr. went to grab some dried flowers from the cellar when he realized Pallas had stolen a huge portion of their unique flower seeds and bulbs, potentially jeopardizing the farm. He confronted his brother and Pallas admitted to having nicked many specimens during his visits to keep his show fresh, but argued that he knew Basil and Trina would say no, so he decided it was better to ask for forgiveness rather than permission. This turned out to be an incorrect assumption. Basil Sr. was furious - was Pallas going to keep taking and taking until they had no more unique specimens to rotate their fields with? He couldn't answer, and the Bloomwood parents told him to get off their property and that he was no longer welcome. That was the last time Astrophel saw the guy.
