Dear Marie and Carina,

I hope this letter finds you two in good health and strong spirits. I’ve been stocking up on souvenirs for you both during our travels and can’t wait to share them. Yet it is to my great sadness that this letter is one with less joyful contents, and one I wish I didn’t have to write.

I am sorry to write that Silas has left the Guild, and his whereabouts are unknown to us.

The actions that led to this are not the kind I can summarize well in a letter, but he endangered every cat in the Guild. You should know that poor rumors are going to spread, and I urge you both to stay safe. I can only assure you that he is out there, still working to find a cure for Carina.

If you see him, let him know that although I wish no ill on him, I will not allow him to rejoin my Wayseekers.

If nothing has been lost in the mail, a personal letter for each of you should have arrived with this as well.

Allow me to apologize again for having to write this way about your husband and father. As always, send for me if you ever need me.
