As Nexus enters, she finds that Agnes is in mid-conversation with Shirley.
“Two. Just two. And don’t worry about riding them or anything, too! Hey, listen, if you teach me the best ways about caring for bird mounts, I’ll cover the rest.” A sincere, and yet eager whisper is heard from Agnes, “See! You like Pip, right?”
When Nexus enters, she is faced with Agnes leaning forth with Pip in her paws. Shirley is leaning backwards, inching away from the small bird. It’s only when Pip makes a shriek to welcome Nexus, Agnes realizes the new presence.
“Oh! Nex! Hello!” The big lynx point doesn’t hide her surprise at the new visitor, arms out in welcome. Shirley shuffles aside to let any business continue, though she stands a little awkwardly in the whole room.
When Nexus speaks again, Agnes grows quiet and serious, smile fading into something sadder.
“Nah… I wouldn’t. What could I do?” She leans back, shrugs a little, “It’s all so much. Even for me. At this point already, I wouldn’t blame ‘em, that’s for sure.”
“All I can do is… ask maybe. For them to stay. I mean, Silas is more encouraging and interested in this, he says that the Guild will be the best place for any of your newly got magic to be monitored, but if they think there’s better hands to protect everyone… haha. They could be right,” She lingers in a pensive sort of silence, gaze looking away distantly before focusing back on Nexus. It seems she remembers she’s supposed to be a leader, suddenly, and then shakes herself back up to standing. She puts a paw on Nexus’ shoulder, a little more elated before, “We were lucky with the turnout of that last Expedition, and I’m not letting it go to waste if it means Waywardia can be at peace again. This time we know what to prepare for, and I’ll trade my own tail if it means everyone’ll get out alive!”
Softening once more, the paw on Nexus’ shoulder retreats, “It’d be hell of a jolly time if you stayed along.”
